Job Brief
The Men’s Teaching and Discipleship Associate is a part-time position created to serve a growing number of county programs served by our ministry. As part of the core team that plans, coordinates, and carries out Bible-based teaching at NorthEast, the individual has to display strong leadership and help set the content and direction of our men’s discipleship program. Additionally, the Teaching & Discipleship Associate encourages devotion to Christ and models a Christian lifestyle to our staff, constituents, to the community at large.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparation and delivery of Bible-based messages at various weekly Bible studies for men’s programs and larger community gatherings.
  • Maintaining up-to-date records of teaching schedules, topics covered, attendance and other metrics at small group and discipleship gatherings.
  • Provide biblical counsel, encouragement, perspective to new believers & others.
  • Help identify, equip and support volunteers to disciple others.
  • Willingness to help out in any area where needed.


Job Requirements:

  • A strong, vibrant Christian testimony and a passion for bringing the Gospel message to the marginalized and underserved.
  • Sound biblical knowledge and a proven track record preaching/teaching in small or large group settings, preferably with a population group similar to that which NE serves.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills; ability to connect with and relate to various groups of people.
  • Availability 15-20 hours/wk. including evenings and occasional weekend events. Must be able to travel throughout OC and Long Beach area.

Ministry Overview:
NorthEast of the Well is a Christian ministry incorporated as a 501 c)3 non-profit in 2011. Our mission: to bring God's Word into hard-to-reach places, empowering those struggling with addiction, abuse, incarceration, and sexual exploitation to discover a new identity and step into their purpose. We offer hope through the Gospel message, belonging through a shared journey and tools that provide a path to independence. NorthEast serves people living in drug treatment and transitional programs, safe houses, shelters, and jails in Southern California, partnering with over two dozen faith-based and secular organizations in a way that both enhances and reinforces their work.


Job Brief:
We are seeking an Area Manager to lead and expand ministry operations in the Orange County area, including in-person Bible studies at various programs throughout the week, along with community gatherings, discipleship groups and other program-related activities. The Area Manager will work with NorthEast staff and volunteers to ensure these activities are carried out in a way that welcomes, engages and points people to Christ. The Area Manager leads the charge in reaching out to new programs, churches and individuals, building up a strong network of resources and operational support. This position requires a leader that is energetic, results-driven, proactive, adaptable and willing to go the extra mile. The Area Manager will report to our Director of Outreach and Program Development. This is a full-time, hands-on position with a schedule that involves working approximately three evenings a week and an occasional weekend.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Establish, maintain and expand partnerships with programs, churches and other organizations aligned with our mission, creating a strong and diverse network of support the ministry.
  • Provide broad oversight of weekly activities, ensuring adequate staff and volunteer coverage.
  • Oversee all aspects of a weekly community gathering, working alongside NE staff on scheduling and logistics and ensuring all operational positions are covered ( e.g. transportation, food, childcare, and all aspects of the evening service).
  • Develop, equip and manage a strong team of volunteers.
  • Engage with our community in a way that values each one and motivates them to come back.
  • Proactively follow up with program participants to create multiple touchpoints that better assist their recovery and restoration journey.
  • Keep an accurate and up-to-date record of all programs, church partners, volunteers, etc.
  • Support children’s ministry team by implementing policies and procedures that guarantee the safety of all children, including background checks for all staff/volunteers over the age of 16.
  • Help create job descriptions for all volunteer positions and hold training/orientations as needed.
  • Being able to teach the Word of God is desired but not required for this position.

Job Brief

The Worship Lead is an essential member of our ministry staff, responsible for bringing meaningful, high-quality worship to our community gatherings, Bible studies and other activities, in a variety of settings. The Worship Lead focuses on building and leading a small team of musicians and vocalists that will engage, model and lead our community to enter in and respond to the presence of the Holy Spirit. Additionally, this individual will embrace the mission of NorthEast, participate as part of our community and minister in a relational way to those we serve beyond the worship stage. The Worship Lead will exemplify a life set apart for Christ in their personal habits, discipline, relationships, and priorities. This is a part-time position (20-25 hrs/week) with the potential to become full-time. Candidates must have the flexibility to work days, evenings and an occasional weekend.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Model and lead authentic worship in an invitational style – drawing people in, using creativity, encouraging participation, and pointing them to Jesus.
  • Plan and establish weekly/monthly plan for worship, keeping in mind teaching themes, scheduling, and working closely with pastors, teachers and coordinators of each gathering or Bible study.
  • Weekly debrief on Bible studies and worship gatherings.
  • Bi-weekly meetings and check-ins with the worship team and worship/spiritual formation.
  • Ensure lighting, sound, video, worship software and other equipment are in proper working order and ready for each gathering.
  • Create and distribute setlists with chart attachments as needed for each worship event (print and online); maintain song database.
  • Assist in planning, implementing and participating in worship for special events such as church outings, fundraising events, conferences and other activities.
  • Build contacts with local musicians, singers and other team members sufficient for ministry needs and to prepare for anticipated growth.
  • Serve as “producer” and worship lead for each community gathering and lead or assign team members for smaller gatherings (Bible studies, etc.).
  • Communicate standards and expectations with love and patience to team members while holding them accountable for punctuality, preparation and performance standards.
  • Offer team members as well as NorthEast staff opportunities to provide feedback and contribute to the quality and content of worship.
  • Lead and guide the worship team to grow in their faith and in their giftedness.


Job Requirements:

  • A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a passion to serve Him through one’s giftedness.
  • Agreement with the mission, vision, and Statement of Faith of NorthEast of the Well.
  • Strong record of developing an effective team of musicians, singers and support staff that will engage and lead the audience into authentic worship.
  • A deep knowledge and desire to share God’s Word.
  • Experience as lead vocalist, excellent skills on at least one instrument (guitar or keyboard).
  • A track record of effectively building and leading a worship team.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Must be COVID-19 vaccinated to enter the programs we serve.

Ministry Overview
The Children’s Ministry Lead oversees the planning and development of the children’s ministries for communities we serve through Orange County and Long Beach. The Children’s Ministry Leader will work closely with the Director of Outreach and Area Managers in making sure there is a clear vision of discipleship plan for the next generation and proactive communication with family members of students. This is a part-time position (20-25 hrs/week) with the potential to become full-time after 3 months.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Establish and develop a curriculum that will benefit various ages of youth that aligns in conjunction with the overall vision of the ministry
  • Lead, recruit, and develop volunteers and children’s ministry workers into a dynamic team
  • Engage with volunteers to cultivate authentic relationships while also helping volunteers to develop their giftings
  • Provide oversight and planning for all aspects of Children’s Ministry programming, including:
    • Monday and Wednesday night community gathering
    • Outreach events
    • Family events and discipleship programming
    • Retreat activities o Curriculum selection/development for all programming
  • Provide oversight to Children’s Ministry budget and help develop the budgetary needs for upcoming years.
  • Develop and implement policies for the safety and security of children, including but not limited to effective use of check-in and check-out technology
