Pastor Laura Suk speaks on what NorthEast is doing during this season, as well as our connection with Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church, as they have been a faithful partner of ours since 2016. We are so grateful for all they have done and continue to do for us and the programs we serve. Specifically, we are thankful for their collaboration with us in cooking a wonderful meal for Casa Teresa last week, a recovery home for pregnant women in crisis.
Thank you NorthEast Pastor Gail, for sharing this encouraging message and scripture -- Please take a listen for updates regarding our weekly meeting/zoom schedules. Send us a message or comment below if you would like to join a zoom meeting and/or a community zoom gathering! We would love to see your faces.
Please never hesitate to reach out to us! We are here for you and want nothing more than to stay connected with you and continue praying for you during this time.
"The mature children of God are those who are moved by the impulses of the Holy Spirit. And you did not receive the “spirit of religious duty,” leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. But you have received the “Spirit of full acceptance,” enfolding you into the family of God. And you will never feel orphaned, for as he rises up within us, our spirits join him in saying the words of tender affection, “Beloved Father!”
Broken down by the founder of NorthEast, herself: Pastor Laura Suk.
"Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people: Come, see about a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”
- John 4:28-29
Psalm 27:14: Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.Through this scripture, Alex encourages us to activate our strength and courage BY FAITH! Alex challenges us this week to make HABITS out of the following list...1. Ask. Ask God to help you believe and trust in His word and His promises. 2. Hope. Continue to have hope in Jesus by faith. Make your hope more full in Christ in whatever way works for you! 3. Humility. Learn to humble yourself before God. 4. Patience. Pursue patience during this time. Go to the Lord and pray/ask Him for patience.
Thank you, Alex, for uplifting and encouraging our NorthEast family and staff during this time!
NorthEast family - WE ARE MISSING YOU! As Pastor Gail says in her video message: we are missing our moments of prayer with you. We are missing joining hands with you, looking you in the eyes, praying together, seeking God, sharing our stories and our needs, and thanking the Lord. These are just some of the special moments we cannot wait to experience with our community members once again.
We encourage you to receive Pastor Gail's message out of the book of Psalms today.
Shaneen reminds us today: "While the churches are empty this Easter… so is the grave - because Jesus has RISEN!"
As we praise Jesus on this Easter Sunday, we encourage you to ask yourself... What does the resurrection of Christ mean to you? Feel free to tell us in the comments!
"In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another."
1 John 4:10
Inspirational words from Pastor Laura Suk..."we are committed always to seeking God, going after the heart of God and not watering down the gospel as we understand it."
“The perfect peace of God is not based on what is happening around me, but the perfect peace of God is based on who He is and our relationship with Him. Because of that, I pray that you are experiencing the perfect peace of God."
John 3:16 tells us: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
We at NorthEast are reflecting on the fact that because of JESUS CHRIST, we can have a good day everyday, even in the face of Covid-19.
We encourage you to spend some time alone in your own way this week to reflect on Holy Week.
What does His death burial and resurrection mean to you?
